Food fun lid makes a perfect match with a rogue-ish pumpkin. They sure were made for each other.
Homemade apple pumpkin jam
Ingredients:
- 2 kg of pumpkin
- 1.5 kg of apples (sour)
- 3 packets of Fructa-Gel
- 1.5 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of water
- 1 teaspoon of lemon juice (or juice extruded from one big, sour orange, can also add grated orange peel to intensify flavour)
Recipe:
Put peeled and finely sliced pumpkin into a thick bottomed pot, pour 2-3 spoons of water and cook (covered) into a slurry on low heat.
Rinse, peel, and dice the apples. Add the apples to the pumpkin, together with water and lemon juice. Cook and stir for about 5 minutes. Afterwards, add Fructa-Gel (pectin) and sugar. Cook everything for another 10-15 minutes. Put into well cleansed (scalded) jars, overturn after sealing, or pasteurise.
