The high thermal coefficient of copper reduces the energy consumption needed to heat and maintain the stability of the process.Undesirable sulfur-containing compounds are formed as by-products in the adjustments and mash during fermentation. The copper absorbs them, preventing them from penetrating into the distillate. Thus, it eliminates the unpleasant odor of hydrogen sulfide, catalyzes the breakdown of esters and absorbs ethyl carbamate. In addition, copper is bacteriostatic, which is of great importance in the production of food distillates.
