Recipe for herring in a delicate marinade with dill

Preparation:

Depending on their saltiness, soak the herring in cold water for about 2–3 hours (you can change the water from time to time). Then cut the fillets into pieces of your preferred size and arrange them in layers in a dish. Between the layers, add pressed garlic, finely chopped onion, and chopped dill.

For extra bite, you can sprinkle the layers with coarsely ground pepper.  

Pour in oil so that the herring are completely covered.
