Recipe for herring in an oil marinade with chili and cranberries
Preparation:
Depending on their saltiness, soak the herring in cold water for about 2–3 hours (you can change the water from time to time). Then cut the fillets into pieces of your preferred size and arrange them in layers in a dish. Between the layers, add pressed garlic, finely chopped onion, cranberries (previously scalded with boiling water), and chili pepper. Pour in enough oil to cover the herring.
