Usage:

Avoid sudden thermal shocks to the glass—large temperature differences can cause damage. Before use, keep the demijohn at room temperature for at least one hour. Do not fill the demijohn with water hotter than 50°C. Wash the glass in lukewarm water with sanitizing agents, e.g., potassium metabisulfite or Oxi Turbo.

Because vigorous fermentation generates significant stress, during this phase it’s recommended to close the demijohn with a less-tight cotton plug to help prevent the glass from cracking.
