Washing and cleaning:
If the pizza stone is used correctly, keeping it clean should not become a problem. The properly high temperature prevents the dough from adhering to the stone, saving time required for its presumptive cleaning.
Notes:
Prior to the first use, the stone should be washed under running water or wiped with a cloth.
The stone SHOULD ALWAYS be put into a cold oven and then warmed up gradually (otherwise it is possible to cause a thermal shock and damage the stone).
The stone heats up to high temperature and direct contact with it may cause burns.
Avoid thermal shocks. NEVER place any frozen food on the hot stone. The hot stone must not be cooled down with cold water – it should always be left to cool down on its own.
The stone cannot be washed in a dishwasher.
It is not recommended to use any detergents for cleaning.
The discolourations appearing on the stone during use are a natural process.
