If you value the elegance of simple, fruit-based distillates, you surely know the legendary taste of cherry eau-de-vie that has delighted lovers of strong spirits in Switzerland, Germany, and Alsace for centuries. Traditional, crystal-clear cherry distillates are made from fermented fruit together with the stones, which imparts subtle almond notes and a deep, clean aroma. These spirits are simple in form yet extremely noble—their exceptional nature is symbolized by their transparency, concealing perfect flavor. These drinks inspired us to create the Sauer-Kirsche essence, which captures the characteristic, dry profile of pure cherry in a clear and modern form.
How to use the Sauer-Kirsche flavor essence / flavoring?
The “liqueur” option:
Pour 4 L of high-proof alcohol (40-45% pure vodka) into a vessel, add 160 to 320 g of sugar, and then add the flavor essence. Mix thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved. Leave for at least 24 hours* – and the liqueur is ready. Enjoy!
*For the best flavor and aroma, we recommend consuming the drink after about a week.
To prepare a smaller portion, use the indentations on the bottle to measure out 10 ml of essence, i.e., a portion for 1 liter of alcohol, proportionally reducing the amount of sugar added.
