Top diameter of the bung: 54 mm. Made of polyethylene. Approved for contact with food. The bung has a hole for an airlock. The bung’s closure/cap allows you to seal it once the fermentation process is complete.
The cap also protects the demijohn during storage, when no fermentation is taking place, against dust and dirt.
