The highbush blueberry has been extremely popular on our market for several years, both fresh and for processing. July is the season for local blueberries, which are quite easy to grow and increasingly appear in home gardens. If you have no idea what to make with them, we’re here to help. We recommend to all adults our recipe for homemade blueberry liqueur, which, in addition to its flavor, also offers many health benefits.

Recipe for blueberry liqueur

Preparation:

Wash the fruit thoroughly, place it in a large jar, and cover with sugar. Screw the jar closed and set it in a warm place for 2-3 days, until the fruit releases its juice.

After this time, dilute the alcohol with water and add it to the jar. Leave everything at room temperature for 3 to 4 weeks.

Then separate the fruit from the liquid and leave them in another closed container to drain well. After a few days, add the liquid recovered from the fruit to the liqueur.

Filter everything using a bag for filtering liqueurs and leave it in the jar or pour into bottles.

The liqueur develops its full flavor after about 4-6 months. Cheers!
