Do you want to make a homemade, delicious and healthy pâté, but without meat? Great idea! A ham cooker pâté is an excellent alternative to traditional meat versions. It’s not only tasty, but also easy to prepare.

Recipe for pâté from a ham cooker – veggie version

Preparation:

Grate the carrots on a coarse grater and pre-cook them so that all the water evaporates and the carrots soften. Transfer them to the container you’ll use for blending, add the chickpeas, chopped parsley, eggs, spices and flour – blend everything. After blending, taste to check whether the filling needs additional seasoning. Place the bag in the ham cooker container and fill it with the mixture. Press down with the plate, fit the dedicated screw-on lid and tighten it well. Place the ham cooker in a pot of water – adjust the water level so it reaches the lid. Poach for about 40 minutes in water at a temperature of 90⁰C.

Once cooled, place the ham cooker in the refrigerator overnight. Then take it out, unscrew the lid and remove the bag with the filling. Cut the bag and gently turn the pâté out onto a plate – try to do it so the filling keeps a compact shape. You can slice it or spread it on sandwiches – just like pâté. Enjoy!

You can store the finished pâté in the refrigerator in the ham cooker’s glass vessel – just close it with a suitable jar lid.

Enjoy! ...because homemade is better!
