Do you like beer? We have a suggestion for you!

If deciding to brew your own beer is still ahead of you, now is the best time. If you have already prepared more than one beer from a brew kit and would like to experiment, we recommend our recipe for Coopers Draught dry-hopped beer. Citra hops are among the most aromatic American hops. They give the beer an intense tropical fruit aroma. Combined with the floral note, light hop flavor, and slightly bitter finish of Draught, you will create an interesting composition to enjoy during spring grilling. We recommend it!

Recipe for homebrewed dry-hopped beer

Preparation:

Tip: Thoroughly wash and rinse the equipment used to make the beer, using e.g. potassium metabisulfite or Oxi Turbo.

Remove the yeast from under the lid of the concentrate. Place the sealed cans of concentrate and extract in a vessel with hot water for 10 minutes to liquefy their contents. Pour 2-3 L of hot water into a large pot, add the contents of the cans and mix thoroughly so these ingredients dissolve well. Add the yeast to a glass of water at 25-28℃. Leave them for 20-30 minutes to rehydrate.

Pour the cooled wort into the fermentation vessel (container or carboy) and top up with lukewarm water to max. 20 L. Mix everything thoroughly. When the temperature of the solution is within 21-27°C, pitch the previously prepared brewing yeast and stir again—for a few minutes.

Tip: You can pour the wort into the fermenter from a certain height, which will properly aerate the solution.

Close the fermentation vessel and install the airlock half-filled with water. We recommend measuring the extract content in degrees Blg.

After 3-4 days of fermentation, add to the batch a scalded bag with a portion of 30 g of Citra hops—this is dry hopping. Remove the hop bag after fermentation. After rinsing, you can use it for your next beers.

Allow the beer to ferment for about 7-10 days, until it reaches 0-2 Blg (check sugar content with a hydrometer). If the hydrometer readings are at the level mentioned above, you can rack the beer into bottles. To do this, add about 4 g of sugar or glucose to each bottle. Cap or screw the bottles and set aside to carbonate for about 3-4 weeks.

The beer will be best after 3-4 months.

We recommend tasting a bottle every now and then, discovering when the flavor becomes best for you 😊

Enjoy! ...because homemade is better!
