Mother Nature is one of the best-stocked pharmacies, so we should first look to her for health-promoting products. An example of a plant with medicinal properties is the blackberry, whose fruit is rich in vitamin C. Thanks to their high anthocyanin content, blackberries support the circulatory system and heart function. The effective role of blackberries in cancer prevention has also been scientifically confirmed. Their anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, in turn, make them a great remedy for combating colds and flu. Women struggling with PMS, as well as those in menopause, will also appreciate the benefits of blackberries—the phytoestrogens they contain help effectively reduce the above symptoms.

There are many ways to use blackberries. Our suggestion is intended for adults who, in addition to the medicinal qualities, will also appreciate the exquisite taste of blackberry liqueur.

Preparation:

Pour the washed blackberries into a jar, sprinkling them in layers with sugar. Shake everything a few times so that the sugar mixes well with the fruit. Cover the jar with gauze and set it aside in a warm place for about 1.5–2 weeks. A sunny windowsill works well.

After this time, mash the blackberries and pour in the alcohol. Seal the jar tightly with a lid and leave for another 1.5–2 weeks. During this time, continue to shake the jar regularly. After this period, filter the liqueur. A filter bag will work perfectly for this task. Store the liqueur separated from the pulp in a jar or bottles. After 6 months, the liqueur develops full flavor and is ready to drink.

Cheers!
