Piña Colada is one of the world's most recognizable cocktails, associated with the tropics, sunshine, and a coconut–pineapple aroma. By preparing it using Piña Colada essence, you can easily recreate this tropical aroma at home, without unnecessary prep and a long list of ingredients.
Recipe for a Piña Colada cocktail
Preparing the alcohol base with essence:
- Pour 4 liters of high-proof alcohol into a container.
- Add the Piña Colada essence and sugar to taste (recommended amount: 150-300 g of sugar per 4 liters of alcohol).
- Mix thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Set the drink aside for at least 24 hours to let the flavors meld (for the best flavor and aroma, we recommend waiting 7 days).
Tip: When making a smaller batch, use the indentations on the essence bottle to help measure proportions - 10 ml of essence per 1 liter of alcohol.
Preparing the cocktail:
- Add a few ice cubes to a shaker or blender.
Tip: Instead of a cocktail shaker, you can use a regular jar. For a thicker foam, you can shake the cocktail twice - first with ice, then without.
- Pour in the previously prepared alcohol base.
- Add coconut milk, pineapple juice, and lime juice.
- Shake vigorously or blend until smooth.
- Pour the cocktail into a glass and serve immediately.
- You can garnish the cocktail with a pineapple wedge or leaves.
