Whisky Fire Sour is one of the most classic cocktails, valued for its ideal balance between citrus acidity and the dry, deep flavor of whisky. The simplicity of the ingredients and its timeless character have made this drink enjoy enduring popularity for years.
Recipe for the Whisky Fire Sour cocktail
Preparing the alcohol base with essence:
- Pour 4 liters of high-proof alcohol into a container.
- Add Whisky Fire essence and sugar to your taste (recommended amount: 200–500 g of sugar per 4 liters of alcohol).
- Stir thoroughly until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Set the drink aside for at least 24 hours to let the flavors meld (for the best flavor and aroma, we recommend waiting 7 days).
- Tip: When preparing a smaller amount, use the indentations on the essence bottle to help measure the proportions - 10 ml of essence per 1 liter of alcohol.
Preparing the cocktail:
- Add ice cubes to a shaker.
Tip: Instead of a bartending shaker, you can use a regular jar. For a thicker foam, you can shake the cocktail twice - first with ice, then without.
- Pour in the measured portion of the previously prepared alcohol base.
- Add freshly squeezed lemon juice, simple syrup, Angostura Bitters, and egg white.
- Shake vigorously until the ingredients are well combined and a foam forms.
- Strain the drink through a strainer into a glass with ice.
Enjoy! ...because homemade is better!
