Ten-pack: the set contains 10 kg of coconut-based activated carbon for 600 L with granulation 0.55 - 2.4 mm, adsorption activity > 60%, for purification and for correcting the taste and aroma of water and alcohols.
Coconut-based activated carbon is specially selected coconut shells subjected to thermal processing with steam, which will let you neutralize and harmonize the taste and aroma of distillates. Due to its iodine number (>900 mg/g) and granulation (0.55 - 2.4 mm), this carbon has a large pore volume, and therefore a high capacity to adsorb impurities affecting the color, taste, and aroma of liquids. Tests show that using coconut-based activated carbon delivers much better results than the same process carried out with coal-based carbon. Column filtration proceeds without problems, the distillate flow is uniform and wets the entire bed, and the obtained distillate has a clean, mild aroma and a delicate taste free of yeasty odor. One 1 kg pack allows filtration of up to 60 L of liquid. The product has a low ash content (<3%), so it does not "leach out" during filtration and does not contaminate or affect the taste of liquids. Due to its universal application, the carbon can also be used outside distillation - in gardening, as a filtering layer in pots and when creating bottle gardens.
Key features of a single pack:
The proposed set includes ten packs of coconut-based activated carbon.
Directions for use:
Place the carbon on a sieve, pour hot water from a kettle over it, then place the carbon with the sieve under running tap water (approx. 20°C) and rinse the carbon for about 3 minutes, turning it over on the sieve until the water running through it is clear. Then leave the carbon to drain off residual water. After this time, the carbon is ready for use. The principle of using activated carbon is similar to that used in typical water filters. The flow time of 1 L of liquid through the bed should be at least 1 hour (the efficiency of absorbing unwanted substances depends on the contact time of the liquid with the adsorbent). Alternatively, activated carbon can be placed in a nylon mesh and put directly into the container with the liquid to be purified for no less than 6 hours, stirring regularly. The effectiveness of the carbon also depends on the temperature of the liquid. Elevated temperature does not favor adsorption - the optimal temperature for the adsorption process is 10°C.
