The steam juicer is a practical tool that’s right at home in any kitchen where homemade preserves are a passion. It makes it easy to prepare tasty, healthy juices for you and your loved ones to enjoy all year round. Gardeners, allotment holders, and anyone with backyard orchards will especially love making their own juice from seasonal fruit.
A steam juicer that lets you easily make just the right amount of juice for everyday use and to stock up for the autumn–winter season. With the delicious, healthy juice you’ll make, you and your loved ones can enjoy the flavor of your favorite fruits all year long.
The set consists of three stackable vessels, a lid, and a hose with clamp. Top vessel (No. 1) – for fruit (up to 8 liters). Middle vessel (No. 2) – for juice, which can be drained into bottles or jars via the attached hose. Bottom vessel (No. 3) - for water. The steam juicer can be used on any type of stove.
Made of stainless steel with excellent durability, resistant to stress and heat. When used according to the instructions, it will serve efficiently for many years.
How to use the steam juicer
Fill vessel No. 3 with water to about 2 cm below the top edge. Then place vessel No. 2 on it, and vessel No. 1 at the very top. Put the prepped, washed fruit into vessel No. 1. Soft fruits—such as blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, or currants—should go in whole, not crushed. Hard fruits, like apples or pears, should be cut into pieces smaller than 3 cm. Sprinkle the fruit with 100 to 600 grams of sugar, depending on the fruit’s acidity and how sweet you want your finished juice. Cover the set with the lid and close the clamp on the hose (it’s recommended to hook the hose onto the handle of vessel No. 2).
Place the assembled set on a heat source (gas, electric, etc.) and slowly bring the water to a boil. Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat so that an excessive amount of steam doesn’t form around the vessel. Under the influence of steam and elevated temperature, the fruit will begin to release juice, which will collect in vessel No. 2.
Estimated extraction time, counted from the moment the water boils (steam appears in the top vessel), is:
- for soft fruits (e.g., strawberries, raspberries): 20–30 minutes;
- for semi-firm fruits (e.g., black currants, blueberries): 30–40 minutes;
- for hard fruits (e.g., apples, pears): 45–60 minutes.
The table included in the manual shows approximate cooking times for different types of fruit, the approximate amount of sugar to add, and the expected juice yield.
About 15 minutes after the water starts boiling, open the clamp on the drain hose—use the hose to pour the accumulating juice directly into bottles or jars. Seal them immediately with caps or twist-off lids. Place the filled bottles and/or jars, closed with caps or lids, into a pot of water and pasteurize for 30 minutes (counted from when the water comes to a boil).
Note! To achieve high-quality, long-lasting juice, carry out all steps with absolute cleanliness. Use standard dishwashing detergents to clean the steam juicer components, but avoid hard brushes, scouring pads, and powders that can scratch the vessels. Wash jars, bottles, caps, and lids just as carefully. It’s best to wash them a few hours in advance and leave them upside down to dry.
The vessels that make up the steam juicer are also dishwasher safe.
