Recipe for green asparagus wrapped in Parma ham from a gas grill
Preparation:
- Trim off the woody ends of the asparagus (about 2–3 cm from the bottom). Rinse and pat dry.
- Place the asparagus in a bowl, toss with olive oil, and sprinkle lightly with sugar, salt, pepper, and herbs.
- Wrap each asparagus spear in a slice of Parma ham. If the asparagus is very thin, you can wrap 2–3 together.
- Preheat the gas grill to medium-high heat (about 200–220°C).
- Place the asparagus on the grate or on a special vegetable grilling rack.
- Grill for about 5–7 minutes, turning occasionally, until the ham is browned and the asparagus is al dente.
- Serve immediately—you can drizzle with a few drops of lemon juice or sprinkle with grated Parmesan.
Enjoy! ...because homemade is better!
