Nothing tastes quite like homemade strawberry jam - sweet, aromatic, and full of summer flavor. For everyone who wants to reduce the amount of sugar in their diet, we’ve prepared a reduced-sugar version. See how simple it is!
Strawberry jam recipe:
Preparation:
- Wash the strawberries, then place them in a pot and bring to a gentle boil.
- Mix the sugar with the contents of one packet of jam pectin, then pour this mixture into the hot strawberries.
- Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. You can skim off the foam or reduce it by adding half a teaspoon of vegetable oil.
- Pour the hot jam into clean jars rinsed with hot water, invert them or pasteurize for 25 minutes.
- The final gelling effect will be visible only after about 24 hours; therefore, to check the jam’s consistency while cooking, you can do the "cold plate" test, i.e., pour about 1 teaspoon of jam onto a thoroughly chilled plate (previously placed in the freezer for several minutes) and leave it to cool or put it in the refrigerator for 2 minutes.
Enjoy! ...because homemade is better!
