Redcurrant is a plant often found in home gardens. Its fruit — eagerly eaten by both children and adults — is a great addition to desserts and cakes, including sweet meringue. Owing to its health benefits, it’s also worth using redcurrants to prepare healthy preserves for the winter. How to make redcurrant jam? The recipe is really simple, and you can adjust the sweetness to your preferences!
Recipe for redcurrant jam
Preparation:
Wash the currants, remove the stems, pat them dry lightly, and place them in a pot. Add a packet of Frukta-Żel as well as sugar. Adjust the amount to your preferences and to the acidity of the fruit. Stir everything and bring to a boil, taking care not to let the mixture scorch. When foam forms on the surface, skim it off and cook for another 3–5 minutes. Transfer the hot jam into sterilized, clean jars. Seal tightly and set aside to cool upside down. You can also pasteurize the jars.
