Homemade sautéed apples are perfect for apple pie, pancakes, and oatmeal. The little ones will gladly eat them with crunchy toast and hot cocoa — slightly older ones can use them when preparing roasted meats. One thing is certain — the apple — the most popular fruit in our country, offers many benefits. So it’s worth using the surplus fruit from backyard orchards to make your own homemade preserves. Sautéing apples doesn’t require much time or advanced cooking skills. All you need is the right apples, a large pot, jars, and some sugar, and then you can start sautéing. Which apples are best for sautéing? Choose more tart varieties, e.g., Antonovka, which, after adding sugar, will give a balanced, not-too-sweet taste.
Apple jam recipe
Preparation:
Wash the apples, peel them, and remove the cores. Dice the flesh finely and put it into a large pot — pour in a little water. Add sugar — depending on the apples' tartness and the desired sweetness of the jam. Simmer for 2-3 hours, until the apples break down. Transfer the hot jam into jars. Pasteurize the jars for about 30 minutes.
