An African pot is perfect for preparing stews, bigos (hunter’s stew), as well as other delicious one-pot dishes, including meat-free ones. There’s another type of dish worth preparing in the pot and, what’s more... it’s incredibly simple! We’re talking about soups. And since it’s the winter season, we’ve prepared a recipe for carp soup for you. Aromatic, warming, and brilliantly flavorful. See for yourself!
Recipe for spicy fish soup with carp
Preparation:
Wash and fillet the carp, then cut the fillets into pieces and set aside. Do not discard the heads, skins, and backbones - put them into the African pot filled with water and cook for about 15 minutes. Remove the fish parts from the resulting stock. Dice or slice the vegetables (except the peppers) and the garlic, and add them to the pot. Add the butter. Cook for about 20 minutes, until the vegetables are almost tender. Then add the peppers, pieces of carp fillets, canned chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, and coconut milk. Season to taste, add thyme, and cook for another 15 minutes. Serve the soup with chopped parsley.
