An aromatic, spiced syrup with a hint of cherry is the perfect addition to tea on chilly autumn or winter days. It combines the sweetness of sugar, the freshness of ginger, and the intense aroma of spices. You can make it in advance, store it in the fridge, and add it to your favorite tea whenever you feel like something warming.

Tea syrup recipe

Preparation:

  1. Pour the water into a small saucepan and add the sugar.
  2. Heat over low heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add the orange zest, ginger slices, cloves, the cinnamon stick, and the star anise.
  4. Simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes to infuse the syrup with flavor.
  5. Strain the syrup through a sieve to remove the spices and zest.
  6. Set aside to cool, then add the cherry essence and stir.
  7. Pour into a bottle or jar and store in the refrigerator.

Try it with other essences, too!

Enjoy! ...because homemade is better!
