Delicious, soft Turkish yeasted flatbreads with yogurt and parsley make an excellent snack that pairs perfectly with hummus. You can also use the flatbreads as wraps for breaded chicken with fresh vegetables, or in a veggie version with tabbouleh salad. The recipe is extremely simple — you don’t need an oven or a mixer to make it. All you need is a pan, a wooden spatula, and the necessary ingredients! How to prepare this Middle Eastern snack — we reveal it in this recipe!

In a large bowl, add the yeast and sugar, then add lukewarm water (about 30°C) - stir well with a wooden spatula and set aside for 10 minutes to activate the yeast. After this time, add Greek yogurt, olive oil, salt, flour, and finely chopped parsley to the bowl. Mix the dough again until the ingredients are evenly combined. Turn out onto a floured work surface and knead for 3-4 minutes, until the dough is no longer sticky (you can dust it with flour as needed). Divide the dough into 10 equal pieces, lightly dust each piece with flour, cover with a cloth, and rest for 15 minutes. Heat a pan, then roll out the first piece of dough into a circle about 17 cm in diameter. Lightly brush it with olive oil and place it, oiled side down, on the preheated pan. Cook for about 1-1.5 minutes, until the top surface is covered with bubbles and the bottom and edges are golden; then brush the top with olive oil, flip, and cook for another 1-1.5 minutes. When golden spots appear on the dough, the flatbread is ready. Repeat with the remaining pieces of dough. You can sprinkle the cooked flatbreads with a little parsley. Store the flatbreads in a zip-top bag to keep them soft and fresh. Reheat before serving in a dry pan or in the microwave.
