With this practical, complete kit you can easily prepare your favourite homemade liquor and, if necessary, brine-pickled products. The 30 L container is made of transparent plastic approved for contact with food. You can easily monitor the progress of fermentation without having to open the lid. The container is characterised by high durability, proper flexibility and resistance to discolorations occurring as a result contact with tannins from the fruit.
The airlock allows controlled release of carbon dioxide (CO2) during fermentation and effectively protects the batch against oxygenation, as well as against unwanted fruit flies, other insects and also bacteria.
The additional side opening in the container will allow you to install an angular airlock drilling an extra opening on your own allows installing an angular airlock and, for example, conducting fermentation in multiple stacked containers.
Please note: in case of limited possibility to check the water level in the airlock, it can be filled with an oily liquid that evaporates to a lesser degree.
The discharge swivel tap enables complete decanting of beer, wine, or other batches from above the sediment. The location of the tap will not prevent the container from being placed on various flat surfaces.
How to use the container:
In order to facilitate opening the container, it is necessary to open the lid slightly, slide an object like a teaspoon handle into the resulting gap, and then pull that object around the rim of the container. It is not recommended to clean the containers using rough washcloths, as this may cause scratches on the surface that might become a source of contamination.
PLEASE NOTE: The container can be tightened further by smearing the container rim with petroleum jelly or edible oil. Before preparing the batch, the fermentation container should be disinfected thoroughly using potassium metabisulphite.
Maximum batch temperature allowed: 85°C.
The temperature of the containers prior to filling should be at least 5°C.
Maximum alcohol concentration in the batch: 50%.
