Ceramsite - a natural material used for draining of pot plant cultivations, as well as creating compositions enclosed within glass, known as “forests in a jar”.

• ​Improves the condition of plants - using ceramsite together with soil makes the substrate for plants loosened, which has a positive impact on root respiration.
• Irrigation system under control - the so-called drainage layer made of ceramsite on the bottom of a plant pot enables draining excess water and protecting the plant’s roots against rotting.
• Hampers weed growth - when placed on the surface layer of soil in a plant pot, ceramsite hampers the growth of weeds and thanks to its porosity it also hampers decay processes and formation of mould.
• Perfect for compositions enclosed within glass - the drainage later made of ceramsite is one of the fundamental layers when creating one’s own compositions enclosed within jars. Thanks to it, such a forest in a jar maintains the correct circulation of moisture.
• Mixed fraction - 4-10 mm ceramsite - is a mixture of the medium and coarse fraction, perfect for providing draining in cultivation of large plants, in large plant pots, but also as a layer covering the soil or for creating bowls that increase air humidity around demanding plants.

Ceramsite is a natural granulate created in the process of clay firing. It is perfect for preparing a specialised substrate for plant cultivation - especially for those plants that have strictly defined requirements in terms of substrate water and air content. Medium and coarse fraction (4 - 10 mm) ceramsite is fantastic for creating drainage layers for large plants grown in large pots. Using this mixture, however, you can also create drainage layers in compositions enclosed within glass. Ceramsite is also worth using on surface layers of plant pots - as a decorative element and for maintaining stable humidity around the plant. Another method for maintaining the right level of humidity in air is creating special bowls filled with ceramsite and located on sills next to plants that do not like dry air. Thanks to its porosity, the ceramsite placed on the top layer of plant pots inhibits the growth of weeds, as well as the decay processes that cause formation of mould in plant pots.
