The device is extremely easy to handle – it consists of three containers stacked one upon another: a water container, a juice collection container, and a fruit container with perforated bottom. The additional advantage of the juicer is its special design, enabling converting the juicer into a steamer. After installing the container with perforated bottom directly over the water container we can prepared steamed dishes. The kit also includes a hose for siphoning the juice directly from the juicer to a decanter, bottle, or jar. The juicer also features a lid. The advantage of home production of juices using a juicer is retaining more nutritional value in the final product. The juices are created in a very simple and quick manner – in the case of soft fruit (such as strawberries or raspberries) it is possible to make one’s own juice in a little more than half an hour. The juicer is also very easy to keep clean – it is dishwasher safe.
How to use the juicer
Fill the container 1 with water up to 2/3 of its height. In the container 3, place washed fruit prepared as follows: soft fruit, such as blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackcurrant should be put in whole - without any fragmentation. Hard fruit (apples, pears) should be cut into pieces with size of less than 3 cm. A spacing of 1-2 cm from the lid of the fruit container should be kept. Pour 100 - 600 g of sugar over the fruit (see table 1). The set should be covered with the lid and the clamp on the hose should be closed (it is recommended to hook the hose by the ear of container 2). Place the setup so prepared over a source of heat (gas cooktop, electric cooktop, etc.) and bring it slowly to boil. Under the influence of increased temperature and the steam emitted, fruits release juice that is accumulated in container 2. Once some juice has accumulated, it should be siphoned into a separate container so as not to get mixed with water.
The time required in order to obtain juice, calculated from the moment of bringing the water to the boil (appearance of steam in the top container), is:
- for soft fruit (strawberries, raspberries): 20 - 30 minutes;
- for semi-hard fruit (blackcurrant, lingonberries): 30 - 40 minutes;
- for hard fruit (apples, pears): 45 - 60 minutes;
After about 15 minutes from brining the water to the boil, open the clamp on the hose and siphon the accumulating juice directly into bottles or jars. Immediately after filling them, close them with crown caps or twist-off screw caps.
Put the bottles (jars) filled with juice into a pot with water and pasteurise them within 30 minutes (counting from the moment of the water starting to boil).
In order to obtain a juice of high quality and long shelf life, it is necessary for all the activities required to prepare it to be carried out with perfect cleanliness.
NOTE: Do not scrub the juicer surface with rough scouring sponges.
