Do you make your own wine at home? If so, you definitely need to supplement your equipment with a vinometer featuring a capillary tube. Note! This vinometer is suitable only for measuring alcohol content in dry white wine, in which all of the sugar was fermented away. The vinometer consists of a small container and a prismatic capillary. Its measurement range is 0-25% alcohol content and it allows reading the result with accuracy of up to 3%. It is very easy to use it. In order to take a measurement, the container needs to be filled with a small amount of the wine tested and then it is necessary to wait a moment in order for the whole capillary tube to be filled. At the moment when the wine starts flowing out through the other end of the capillary, the instrument should be turned over and put on a tabletop. At this position, some of the capillary tube will be emptied and the level at which the fluid head stops will indicate the alcohol content in the wine tested.
