An airlock filled with water is used in the fermentation process in order to protect the batch content against oxygenation, while at the same time enabling regular emission of carbon dioxide produced in the process taking place.

Compared to regular airlocks, the capacity of the innovative Maxi airlock has been increased by up to 92%, providing greater benefits from using it. It is shatterproof, durable and safer for the batch. The airlock’s capacity allows minimising the risk that the water evaporates and fruit flies, other insects or bacteria get into the drink or pickles.
