Alcohol content indicator with range from 0 to 95%, with a thermometer, for pure alcoholic drinks, glass test tube
Alcohol meter with thermometer in a glass test tube - this areometer allows measuring the alcohol content in colourless alcoholic drinks that do not contain any sugar. This meter will surely come in handy in your household, as well as at bars when diluting liquor to make drinks! The meter consists of a test tube and a floater and features a properly applied large scale from 0% to 95% alcohol content. The floater also includes a permanently fixed thermometer that allows checking the liquid temperature while taking a measurement. Using this device, it is possible to measure easily, quickly, and - most importantly - accurately the percentage content of alcohol in pure alcoholic drinks (vodka, spirits, moonshine) that do not feature admixtures of sugar and dyes, which distort the result. Thus, the alcohol meter is not suitable for measuring the alcohol content in wines or tinctures! Taking a measurement is extremely easy and the result is read directly from the scale, without additional conversions. The flat bottom of the test tube facilitates taking a measurement thanks to stabilising the floater. The container can rest against the tabletop during a measurement but need to be held all the time.
Since these instruments are calibrated in the temperature of 20°C, it is recommended to take measurements in the same temperature, which is facilitated by the thermometer included in the alcohol meter. Since liquids change their concentration (as a result of molecules shrinking and growing) under the influence of temperature, a measurement taken at 20°C will be the most reliable and accurate. The alcohol mater made of glass is also fitted with a shatterproof test tube, made of material suitable for contact with food, including alcohol products.
How to use:
In order to take a measurement, the test tube has to be filled with a small amount of liquid, sufficient for the floater inside the tube to float within its volume without touching the tube walls. After the immersion level is stabilised, a measurement can be taken on the basis of the location of the bottom meniscus of the liquid.
Liquids change their concentration (as a result of molecules shrinking and growing) under the influence of temperature. Thus, it is necessary to remember to take measurements at 20°C - they will be the most reliable and accurate then.
Note: This indicator is intended for determining the alcohol content in colourless alcoholic drinks that do not contain sugar. At the time of measurement, the solution examined should have the temperature of 20°C.
Note!
The rules of production of alcohol on the territory of the Republic of Poland are regulated by the following acts: the act of 2nd of March 2001 on production and bottling of wine products, trading these products, and organisation of the wine market, and the act of 18th of October 2006 on production of spirit drinks, their registration, and protection of geographical indications of spirit drinks.
