PRODUCT UNAVAILABLE
The modular distillation system was made to satisfy the needs of the most demanding customers. Thanks to the use of standardized connections and innovative system elements, any kind of distiller can be configured on this base. All elements are fully compatible with other distillation modules offered by Browin.
The set includes:
Structural characteristics:
capacity - 30 L,
2 carrying handles,
5 snap buckles,
mounting holes in the cover for a thermometer (102690 or 102700) and distillation modules,
bottom suitable for all types of cookers.
The connector may perform the function of a rectifier, as it enables using a filling that increases the purity of the distillate obtained. The best effect is achieved when using prismatic springs or other stainless filling. The connector can hold about 900 mL of filling, which has to be purchased separately.
Structural characteristics:
module height of 500 mm,
external pipe diameter - 48 mm,
ending with a screw connector,
possibility of using a filling.
Structural characteristics:
cooling section height - 280 mm,
external pipe diameter - 48 mm,
2 sedimentation tanks,
water connection – threaded 1/8” coupler for a hose valve/connector,
slot for a thermometer (220309).
• 353120 - 5 m soft PVC hose + quick coupling – for connecting cooling water supply to the still.
• Silicone hose for collecting the distillate.
• 102700 - Analog thermometer – for placing inside the container.
• 220309 - Electronic thermometer in a frame – to be placed on the connection to the head.
We recommend purchasing the following items separately:
• Stainless steel filling – 1 pack (341901) or Prismatic springs made of copper – 2 packs (341900)
• Alcohol meter (405554)
• Proofing parrot (341302).
Description:
This kit, when used without the filling of the connector, is intended for the so-called periodic, simple distillation. In view of the simple arrangement of the equipment, the evaporating liquid is transferred right away directly into the condenser, as a result of which the composition of vapours changed gradually during the distillation process.
As the process progresses, compounds with increasingly higher boiling point are being evaporated. It is normal for the process to be carried out at least twice in stills of this type.
NOTE: It is necessary to remember not do distil liquids with alcohol content of more than 30-40%. Liquids with higher alcohol content need to be diluted to the concentration indicated. Additionally, it is necessary to put a couple of the so-called boiling stones (e.g. pieces of porcelain) into the container in order to prevent the liquid from overheating.
The main objective of the first distillation is to separate the volatile compounds from non-volatile ones and to receive the whole pool of volatile compounds included in the batch. Meanwhile, during the second distillation, the distillate is divided into three fractions: heads (in the amount of about 200 mL), main distillate, and tails.
This division is usually carried out in reference to the temperature in which individual fractions are received, and also to their concentration.
During the course of the process, the temperature rises parabolically while the distillate concentration decreases.
The distillate received should be cold. Meanwhile, the temperature of the cooling water in the outflow should be about 60-70°C.
The temperature during the distillation process is adjusted by means of a heat source (e.g. a gas cooker) and the rate of flow of cooling water through the condenser.
The sedimentation tanks present in the equipment prevent the undesirable fractions from passing to the condenser, thus improving the quality of the final product.
The application of additional copper filling contributes to purity of the distillate and its concentration.
This kit will be excellent as equipment both for simple distillation based on aromatic fruit or herbal maceration, and for the process where a product of higher purity is obtained (on condition of meeting the requirements of binding provision of the law).
Caution!: The distillation process must be carried out under supervision.
Kit height without thermometer: about 97 cm
Consumption of cooling water: about 17 L per 1 hour
Distillation time: about 1 hour per 1 L.
