Oak wood shavings - fine pieces of wood that provide liquor with oak aroma when added to it. The best varieties of wines or whisky are those aged in oak wood barrels for a long time. When preparing homemade liquor you can obtain a similar flavouring effect in a much quicker and less expensive way by using oak wood shavings.
Oak wood shavings are a perfect substitute for oak wood barrels used for aging many types of liquor, which are expensive and difficult to handle. Thanks to them you can obtain desirable aromas and oak wood notes in your liquor in a straightforward manner. You can enrich them with an almond aroma. Additionally, the liquor will gain a beautiful bright amber colour. And all of this within just a few weeks.
Natural, untoasted oak wood shavings enrich the homemade wines and distillates with even more tannins than their toasted counterparts.
In wines and infusion liqueurs the addition of oak wood shavings underlines the freshness and fruity character of liquor. The oak wood shavings presented will also be useful when preparing homemade cognac, bourbon and brandy.
