Cinnamon oak wood flakes are small pieces of wood used for providing liquor with desirable flavours and aromas similar to those obtained during aging in oak wood barrels. 

  • For various types of liquor – cinnamon oak wood flakes can be added to wine, infusion liqueur, vodka or mead. Perfect for flavouring cognac, bourbon and brandy.
  • Provide aroma, flavour and colour – thanks to the wood flakes, your liquor will gain an oak wood flavour, cinnamon aftertaste, tannins and a dark amber colour.
  • Alternative to oak wood barrels – it is an inexpensive substitute of traditional barrels with aromas that are easier to extract.
  • Natural origin – the chips are made from a French oak variety.
  • Simple to use – it is enough to add the chips during the fermentation process or to finished liquor in order to age it.

Cinnamon oak wood flakes are the best alternative to using oak wood barrels. Thanks to using them we provide liquor (wine, infusion liqueur, distillate) with both aroma and colour. It is a far simpler and less expensive method of liquor aging in comparison to traditional aging in barrels. Oak wood flakes can be dosed either during fermentation or to a finished liquor.

Thanks to the addition of cinnamon oak wood flakes, the liquor prepared will very quickly gain discernible oak wood notes, the aroma of cinnamon and a dark amber colour. Fruity aromas in wine and infusion liquor will be preserved. The wood flakes presented will also be useful when preparing homemade cognac, bourbon and brandy.

How to use:

Add the oak wood flakes to the liquor of choice in a dose of 4-10 g per 1 L of alcohol for a period of 3-6 weeks. It is worth to choose the specific time of contact between the shavings and the liquor individually, on the basis of tasting. Once you consider the degree of concentration of aroma in liquor appropriate, remove the wood flakes from it and enjoy its flavour. You can also pour 70% alcohol over the cinnamon oak wood flakes and leave them for a few days of extraction. Then you can dose the resulting essence to the liquor of choice according to your preferences.
