These oak chips, reclaimed from genuine American bourbon barrels, offer a unique and effective way to impart deep, barrel-matured character to your homemade spirits. In just a few weeks, you'll achieve rich notes of vanilla and smoke - natural aromas developed over time in charred oak barrels used for aging bourbon.
Perfect for use in whiskey, bourbon, brandy, or lighter spirits.
Naturally toasted American oak enhances both flavor and aroma, bringing forward expressive vanilla tones and a smoky accent.
Key Features & Benefits:
Using high-quality oak chips is the most accessible alternative to full-size barrel aging. Oak chips impart the noble flavor and color of oak without the cost, space, or time required for traditional maturation. Your homemade whiskey or “oak-aged” spirit will pay tribute to classic styles and elevate your tasting experience.
Specifications:
Material: American white oak
Toasting level: Heavy toast
Dosage: 2-6 g / 1 L of spirit
Usage Instructions:
Add oak chips directly to your chosen spirit at a dosage of 2-6 g per 1 liter of alcohol for 3 to 6 weeks. We recommend adjusting the contact time based on personal tasting preferences. Once the desired flavor intensity is reached, remove the chips and enjoy your refined spirit.
Alternatively, you can macerate the oak chips in 70% ABV alcohol for a few days, then use the resulting extract to dose your spirit as preferred.
Tip: For greater depth and complexity, use a lower dosage over a longer infusion time. This allows the alcohol to penetrate deeper into the wood structure, extracting richer flavors than those achieved through shorter contact.
